Lake Powell Explorer Program

Lake Powell Resorts & Marinas interpretive staff has developed The Lake Powell Explorer program. Complimentary to families that are guests of the resort, campers or houseboaters, the Explorer program has fun-filled, educational, age-appropriate activities designed for parents and children to do together. The activities include Discovery Hikes, Word Puzzles, a field trip to Glen Canyon Dam Visitor Center, and Alphabet Hunt. All activities were created to teach kids about Lake Powell as a national resource, about the flora and animals indigenous to the area, and safety. The Lake Powell Explorer pack includes a parent's guide, maps, a badge and completion certificate. Ask at the front desk for your complimentary Lake Powell Explorer pack.

Carl Hayden Visitor Center (at the Glen Canyon Dam)
Tours of the Dam are available year-round, provided by the Glen Canyon Natural History Association. For current tour information call 928.608.6072. John Wesley Powell Museum
Open Monday-Friday from 9-5, this museum has something to offer for all ages. Interactive and informative, visitors will learn about dinosaurs, geology, history and Native American culture. Go back in time.
"Discover the West" Ranger Program
The National Park Service provides free Ranger programs at the outdoor amphitheater in Wahweap campground. Friday and Saturday evenings, Memorial Day through Labor Day. Discover the West.
Water Sports and Swimming
Both the Wahweap and Bullfrog Marina have a wide variety of water sports rentals. You can rent jet skis, power boats, kayaks, swimming gear and everything you need to plan a day filled with fun activities to do under the sun and by the lake.
Vermilion Cliffs Guided Hiking Tours
